Rotationary Floating Solar Plant without Axis.

INIWORLD is a company which develops and provides floating solar power systems, succeeded in developing techniques for floating solar power generators without using an axis of rotation on August 9, 2016. The power generator has been established in Ilwol Reservoir, Suwon. The reservoir is under scrutiny to arrange the test site for the study of the power generator. The existing floating solar power system rotated, with the axis of rotation fixed at the bottom of a reservoir. Generating electricity through reservoirs creates more than 30% the amount of energy provided by sunlight generation on land, because it can follow the sun by rotating the generators on water. However, constructing solar power generators is expensive due to the axis and maintenance is difficult as it collides with buoyant materials. Since there is no axis of rotation, its driving system can be simplified and the construction cost can also be reduced. Moreover, the simplified system helps maintenance become more convenient. For these reasons, Korea will be able to acquire a blue ocean for the new solar power system.
